Russians learned from Snowden: give us that same access to data!

The backlash is there: for years Russia has tried to get a grip on the internet and now they want a piece of the same cake the American secret services already seem to enjoy.

The Russians tried to claim a national control of the internet through the UN. A power struggle over standards committees and ICANN which so far failed.

Now they know the US really has an advantage over other countries by hosting most internet organizations as well as the major providers of network and data and they say ' We want what you have!'

Access to data at private (US) organizations. Who is to say no? Is there a moral argument left or is it now just a legal power struggle to get that same access?

  1. Jo Dunaway says:

IMHO, it's the legal power struggle for that same access.

  2. There has been struggle between many Internet companies like BlackBerry and Govt of India as well. They (companies) just lost the argument.
