Nikon hopes to appeal to a generation which missed out on these fantastic mechanical cameras and now offers a hipster full frame Nikon. That first salary had better be a good one though: it's priced at 3059E
Specwise the Df-dslr is not an innovation. It sits between the existing D610 and D4. For photographers who long for direct button access to DLR features the Df might be interesting. Other than that, it's a lot of money for a life style camera… #Tech
Kind of want.
Want! 😀
no want this
The US price is bad, but that's ridiculous.
us price is more than india so
i actually feel that – body quality aside, this is below the d610 in most areas. It´s a very stylish looking camera, but other then looks and more manual controls it´s not an improvement in any way to any of Nikons recent ff´s, and if image quality is a concern, then i dont see how this will actually produce better images then the much more affordable D610, not to mention the D800.
Stylish is what it is tho, but that is all :).
My Dad's old Minolta may not be stylish, but it takes amazing photographs! I'll pass on this one.
Yeah, my old Pentax still works great, I'll pass.
I still have one of those, inherited from my uncle in the late 80s…
My first DSLR was a Pentax MX I believe, so I like the looks and I love buttons (or better: I hate menus), but I'll pass for this kind of money.
+Michael A Koontz yeah, the D4 images really suck. Oh wait… 😉
Alternatively, you could use a modern DSLR & just shoot in full manual mode with a few nice, cheap prime lenses.
Sure +Lionel Lauer that would be retro, but without people noticing how cool you are….
I'm sorry but there is only one, the Nikon F. A real worker.
It's such a close visual cousin to my 1980 Nikon FM, I thought it was a joke. Maybe it is. I could shoot a lot of film for several thousand dollars.
+Per Siden I still own a Nikon F. Haven't used it in a very, very long time though.
probably takes their f/1.0 items
+Max Huijgen , what's "3059E " ? that suppose to be € currency sign? as in Euros/Euro Dollar ?
no +Gijs van Dijk they dont of course and i did not say that.
But i fail to see that the D4 produce images of higher quality then the d800 or the d610. Low light performance is great of curse and so is the tank build and high fps. And the solid tank build and high fps is the main reasons the D4 has a high price. IQ wise it´s even a tiny bit behind the d800. Of course this new camera will produce beautiful photos, and look stylish doing it, but it´s in no way a step forward when it comes to image quality compared to Nikons other recent ff´s.
Then again, all that matters is that the people buying it is happy and i am sure they will be :).
It´s just a bit funny in my opinion that a retro/basic camera (as far as features and specs go) with a high price tag and the tag line "pure photography" is not pushing the envelope on image quality beyond the companies own and already existing lineup.
Yes +Otto Normalverbraucher Euros
+Michael A Koontz Nikon has currently 3 FX sensors at their disposal. The 36mpx of the D800, the 24mpx of the D600/D610 and the 16mpx of the D4. The best allround sensor by far is that one of the D4, followed by the D800 and lastly the D600/D610. All imo of course. 🙂
